This industry segment includes combined generation of heat and electricity within one technological process. It plays an important role within Czech Coal’s business plan, particularly with respect to investments in heating plants and factory energy management systems where the Most brown coal is used. Centralised heat generation has been among the long-term and stable commercial outlets for the coal from Most. Significant potential business opportunities exist in the area of the provision of a complete range of energy-related services. This may include extension of heating and power plants’ activities to supply other media such as compressed air, cooling etc. and to provide the related services. Combined sale of fuel, heat and electricity within the Group brings about significant synergies.
