The company manages the Československá armáda (ČSA) coal mining site, including a homogenisation plant and Úpravna uhlí Komořany [Komořany Coal Processing Plant]. Coal reserves located within the mining limits amount to 41.6 million tonnes of high-grade brown coal with a calorific value of 17.5 MJ/kg. Beyond the mining limits, a further 750 million tonnes are located; this coal has the highest calorific value in the Czech Republic. If the Government does not modify its Resolution No. 444/1991 in a short time coal production will have to be radically reduced from 5 million to 2.5 million tonnes per year very soon, after 2012. There is also the risk that production on this site will have to be interrupted completely in 2022.
