Facts and data about the Group

The Czech Coal Group consists of Czech Coal a.s., a trader in energy commodities, such as coal, electricity and greenhouse gas emission allowances. It also includes Vršanská uhelná a.s. (VUAS), which holds coal reserves with the longest life span in Czech Republic within the existing mining limits, Litvínovská uhelná (LUAS), which has the largest coal reserves beyond the mining limits in Czech Republic and Coal Services a.s., service company. The Group also includes a number of service companies and it holds equity stakes in regional heat & power plants.

History

2005 Czech Coal Group established.
Investors acquire energy assets from the original owner. The assets include the Mostecka uhelna společnost mining company (MUS), as the company with the largest coal reserves in the Czech Republic., Czech Coal a.s. that has been awarded a licence for electricity trading since 2002, ancillary companies and shares in heating plants.
2006 Czech Coal Group and E.ON Group established a joint-venture at Teplarna Otrokovice and Energetika Malenovice heating plants.
Indoverse Czech Coal Investments Limited buys into the Czech Coal Group by acquiring a minority stake of MUS.
2008 Czech Coal Group is one of the big five suppliers with electricity in the Czech Republic.
The Group is divided into three new companies: Vršanská uhelná a.s., Litvínovská uhelná a.s. and Czech Coal Services a.s.
The Group develops a project of modern thermal power station with supercritical parameters.
2009 Within the Group, the interests held by Indoverse Czech Coal Investments Limited Czech Coal a.s. becomes a subsidiary company of Czech Coal N.V. (50%) and Indoverse Czech Coal Investments Limited (50%) and a sister company in relation to Vršanská uhelná a.s., Litvínovská uhelná a.s. and Czech Coal Services a.s.
2010 On the basis of the decision passed by the company’s AGM held on 14 June 2010, Czech Coal Services a.s. was divided by way of spin-off. One of the spun-off parts was transformed into a new company, Coal Services a.s., while the other spun-off part was merged by absorption with Czech Coal a.s.
Indoverse Czech Coal Investments Limited bought a 50% equity stake in the Czech Coal Group from Czech Coal N.V. and became its sole shareholder.
