The company extracts brown coal from the Vršany surface mines in the central part of the North Bohemian Brown Coal Basin. Within the mining limits, coal reserves with the longest prospects for coal extraction in the Czech Republic, specifically until 2058, are available. They hold approximately 324 million tonnes of coal for extraction; these reserves also provide an opportunity to supply a new power station, or a heat & power plant, with coal throughout its life.
